How the QuantPrep question bank is built

What a question template is

A template contains a category, difficulty, prompt generator, answer function and worked explanation. The generator changes inputs such as probabilities, payoffs, sequence rules, sample sizes, strikes, rates or market conditions.

The current bank contains 1,526 templates. This is a count of tested generators, not a marketing estimate of every possible numerical variant.

How topics are selected

We use official firm interview guidance where available, current careers material, public candidate reports and established mathematical interview archetypes. Official sources are given the highest weight. Candidate reports are treated as evidence of recurring themes, not proof that an exact question remains in use.

What a firm-style tag means

A firm tag means the question matches a publicly reported topic emphasis or format associated with that firm. It does not mean:

• the exact generated wording was asked by the firm;
• the firm supplied or endorsed the question;
• the current interview will contain that family;
• the filter covers every role at the firm.

Originality and proprietary material

Reported questions are abstracted into a mathematical family and rewritten as original generators. The product is meant to teach methods, not distribute private or proprietary assessment content.

Quality-control process

The latest bank expansion executed every generator repeatedly and checked for a non-empty prompt, finite numeric answer and worked explanation. The build also received JavaScript syntax checks, desktop and mobile rendering checks, and interaction tests covering filters, timers, answer submission, scoring and session reports.

The recorded expansion pass included 38,150 automated generator executions. This reduces implementation errors but does not imply that every mathematical explanation can never be improved. Version notes document major corrections and expansions.

Known limitations

• Interview processes change and differ by role, office and level.
• Some roles require substantial coding, systems or research-project discussion beyond this trainer.
• Parameter generation can create questions that are mathematically valid but easier or less elegant than another variant.
• Firm-style profiles are broad preparation aids, not predictions.
